The annual MSU Center for Teaching and Technology "Technology Conference" was held Saturday, November 14, 2009. I presented at an informational session, the description follows;

Learning Chinese through Technology and other Language Learning Resources

"This presentation will be anchored in a series of language learning materials supported with technology. By introducing and discussing the language learning materials, we will explore the topics of technology innovation in the more traditionalized content area of second language learning, using technology to create innovative curriculum as well as individualized learning."

In the presentation I give a quick overview of the development of langauge learning with technology, giving examples of work we are doing at CI-MSU to push the envelope.  My presentation, done with prezi.com, is below;

The Confucius Institute at Michigan State University provides Chinese teacher placement services through a program sponsored by the Teacher Education program at the College of Education. Part of the process is getting teachers who have graduated from universities with degrees in teaching Chinese foreign language into the Chinese Teacher Certification program at MSU and experience in western classrooms.
